DIY Christmas Lantern
Updated: Nov 20, 2018
Looking for the perfect holiday statement piece? Why buy something when you can use what you already have at home! Make this DIY Christmas Lantern with only 3 materials! This was one of the quickest DIY projects I have ever made, you literally have to just find ornaments that you arent using and place them inside of an unused lantern, add lights and your done! The final product comes out to be so beautiful.
Customize this project based on your holiday style! For this look I was going for a neutral statement piece for the corner of my room. The lights inside this lantern make it so cozy for inside use but don't be afraid to use it outside as well. This piece looks beautiful accompanying other decorations by the front door!
2. Ornaments/ Balls
1. To start simply take your lantern and lay it on a surface so the pane opposite of the door is flat on the surface. This allows you to easily fill the lantern with your ornaments.
2. While filling the lantern your going to want to put your lights inside. Battery operated lights are the best so you can just switch it on and don't need to worry about a plug, but just make sure the box is near the door so your able to turn it off and on easily.
3. Add more ornaments/balls and finish with the lights on top.
4. Close the front of the lantern and stand up, and Fin! Simple as that!
Customize it !
A great way to customize this DIY Christmas Lantern is too use a few alternating size lanterns with different color schemes of ornaments inside. Scatter them all over the room to pull the central holiday theme together! Use outside, fill your summer lanterns with lights and ornaments and place by the front door to make a beautiful holiday entrance way !
